Privacy Policy

Soul is built to be private by default. We collect only what's needed to run the app, we do not sell your data, and there are no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.

Who we are

Soul ("we", "us") is an app that helps you discover shoes through spoken reactions. Questions? Email jibbeverhave@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple gives us a stable, app-specific user identifier and (on first sign-in only) the name you choose to share. We never receive your Apple password. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we never see your real address. We store this identifier (and name, if shared) on our server so we can sign you in and keep your saved shoes across sessions.
• Voice. With your permission, Soul uses your microphone and Apple's speech recognition to turn what you say into text on your device. We never record, send, or store your audio. The resulting reaction text (e.g. "love it", "too chunky") is sent to our server as part of a reaction.
• Your activity. The shoes you see, your reactions (like / skip / "too X"), your onboarding choices, and the shoes you save are stored on our server, linked to your identifier, so we can recommend the next shoe, let you revisit your likes, and improve the experience.

What we do not do

• No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no cross-app tracking.
• No selling or renting of personal data.
• No analytics or advertising SDKs, and no data shared with third parties for their own purposes.

How your data is used

Only to run the app: to sign you in, to understand your spoken reactions, to recommend shoes, and to save the ones you love. That's it.

Permissions

Soul asks for the microphone and speech recognition so you can react out loud. You can revoke either at any time in iOS Settings; the app still works with on-screen controls.

Data retention & deletion

You are always in control. Choosing Delete account inside the app (Settings → Delete account) permanently erases your identifier, name, and all of your sessions, reactions, and saved shoes from our servers, and clears the copy on your device. Until then we keep your data so the app works for you across sessions. You can also revoke Soul entirely under iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Sign in with Apple.

Children

Soul is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
